Purchased this last week for an upcoming trip to Europe for use as an added measure of safety in the hotel rooms we are staying in. Received exceptionally quick using Amazon Prime.
Tested this portable lock in my property with two unique doors and works wonders! With this lock on, it will make it very tricky for an intruder to come in to your area. Although the red piece is plastic it is reinforced with a metal plate underneath it which tends to make it actually solid! This makes the whole transportable lock made of metal! As soon as installed, it was tricky for me to go in the property. I consider that I would have to kick the door in to jar this portable lock loose.
Terrific additional measure of security! I will sleep much better realizing that even if an intruder manage to choose the locks of my hotel area, they would have to kick the door in to open it with this portable lock in place!

When it fits, it offers a sturdy barrier, quick to place on or remove. It can be especially valuable when renting holiday houses or condos exactly where some realtors, property managers, or maintenance males tend to enter without even knocking at instances. Too countless folks seem to have keys, and really feel entitled to enter whenever they please, at such locations. Sadly, it only fits regular doors, and only when the door and lock fit the frame perfectly.
I have never been able to use it at a hotel, and also usually find it won't operate in typical doors. Regrettably, housekeeping and maintenance staff have keys to ALL locks, even deadbolts, and can even get into rooms with security bars effortlessly. I would like to see a new version of this for hotels, and some transform that would make it a lot easier to use on "imperfect" doors.
