Client Critiques

I have read all the safety reviews on Amazon from all the various safety MFG's. Skylink, GE, Bulldog Safety etc. I was impressed that the reviews on this item did not mention anything about poor good quality, poor range and so on. I initially named the AAS security people today and was impressed that more than the telephone they could answer all my queries. I would like to let you know that the primary programmer/ auto dialer is the identical on all their units from AAS100 to AAS600 systems. The only difference is the quantity of door sensors, motion detectors, sirens and so on etc. They have so quite a few additional add on's for their security technique it is incredible, such as remote wireless sirens, smoke detectors, gas detectors, water detectors and additional and way more. So I ordered a custom unit from them: 1 key programmer/dialer, 1 remote siren and 3 motion detectors and two remote key pods. I setup the program on my kitchen table in about 1/two an hour. The siren is loud, because I bought the separate wireless siren unit it can be placed anyplace you have an AC outlet. The motion detectors perform stunning. Not also sensitive but work at long distances. I put 1 on the motion detectors in my den and it looks into my kitchen and will detect you if you walk at the finish of the kitchen 40ft away. The main programmer has built in battery backup. I have a 3000 sq ft property and I don't know exactly where to put the 3rd detector, the other two detectors cover my entire first floor. I've only had it for a week but I am impressed. You have the capability to dial into this system and listen to what is happening, works with my blackberry cellphone. You can set the exit and entrance instances and various extra good programming tricks that you do not get in other systems. This safety system with my Avaak Vue wireless cameras are fantastic. When the alarm goes off I am in a position to look in and see what is going on from anyplace. Will update in a couple of months.
UPDATE:
The system is superb. No problems. I use VOIP Vonage for my dwelling telephone and it functions outstanding on out going alerts from the AAS 100 security technique, but on incoming calls the Vonage answering service will answer and I can't dial into the AAS 100. SO....I purchased the VOIP Grandstream Handystream 286 adapter from Amazon went to CallCentric and signed up for their VOIP phone . Its best for a alarm system given that it will dial out and I can now call in to my alarm. Price? $1.95 per month. Great! If any person finds a greater VOIP source let me know!
Second update:
Identified out my dog can set off the motion detectors. No trouble, raised the pointing angle and now my pug does not set off the alarm. My wife and I set it every time we go out. Even with the dog at property. Love this system.
Third update Feb 2011:
System nonetheless working awesome. Had to replace the 9V batteries for two of the motion detectors, so I would say they last about 6 months. I replaced the batteries on all the units anyway. Easy to do, and I did not have to reprogram any of them. Amazon has some good deals on 9V Alkaline batteries. I also dropped my VOIP CallCentric and I just use the Vonage VOIP. No want for two systems, I never ever had to dial into the security technique, no false alarms!

Had this alarm technique for the last two months. Also, purchased the GSM Cellular Module, simply because I do not have a land-line.
Just after being broken into my prior location, an alarm system was a need to have for our new apartment house. Ahead of moving in, I began the installation. At initial, I was concerned with the directions which mainly consisted of a photograph instance, but the installation was a breeze. The door alarms are easy to mount and based on a flawless engineering. The motion detectors were a bit a lot more hard, but I as soon as I figured out how the jumpers coordinated with the spectrum of detection (which is enclosed in those directions), it was fine. I set mine to a sizeable distance, so I should certainly not have been shocked that the cat set it off. At a mid-distance, my cat didn't trigger it at all.
Even though I could have applied a bit a lot more description of the modes (Dwelling, AWAY, and so on.), all of the directions for programming the method had been clear and concise. The flexibility of this system is astounding. You can system up to ten phone numbers and customize the timer delays as substantially as you desire to. The key fobs are amazing. I have close friends that paid $800.00 for their systems and getting had to come by when they are gone, I hate the keypad-only systems. You can set this program implementing the essential fob, which can transmit by way of our metal door or arm it by telephone.
As for the alarm element, I have had this go off accidentally and by design. The accident component had to do with guests who did not follow directions and my cat. In every case, I was notified soon enough to disarm it relatively fast. The alarm is loud and deafening inside the apartment, and is absolutely loud sufficient to be heard within the building.
I would extremely advocate this technique. You can use it with a monitoring provider because that is supported, but it undoubtedly beats the $800.00 models that these monitoring organisations charge for their systems. Plus installation is very easy and DIY. I feel safe at night and when I am away. The day-to-day use is rather simple and hassle-free to work into your morning/night routine.
